The Application Process:
1
When the recruitment window opens email your CV together with a covering letter to the email address of enquiries@ashleytaylors.co.uk
2
You will be invited to a remote interview, where we will assess your personal and professional skills and suitability for the role.
This will provide you with an opportunity also to tell us a bit more about yourself.
3
If you are successful at interview, you will be invited to attend a rigorous online advocate selection and assessment course. We make no apology for making it an intensive course, as it is intellectually challenging in real-life at Court and we aim to prepare you as fully as possible. You will be required to digest a large volume of information. You will be supplied with written material, which will furnish you with the requisite knowledge about the applicable law and civil procedures.
You will be expected to complete short written and oral tests based on this material and learning, as well as benefitting from face-to-face teaching with a lead advocate. You will thereby be prepared for cases that you will eventually undertake in practical examination once you have successfully reached this stage of the process.
You will have an unparalleled opportunity to meet members of our senior advocate and management team and participate in mock hearings to assess your suitability for becoming fully accredited as an Ashley Taylors Legal advocate. This provides you, the potential advocate, with an opportunity to tell us a bit more about yourself and, within a positive and encouraging framework, prove yourself.
4
Once you have successfully completed the online advocate assessment course, you will undertake your first hearings, and you will be in close communication with the Ashley Taylors Legal management team during the preparation and conduct of your caseload. Full support will be provided to make sure your first appearance in Court runs as smoothly and successfully as possible.
5
As part of our ongoing professional development, successful advocates will progress and grow in performance through continued monitoring to ensure that you are provided with necessary support and guidance. From this monitoring, Ashley Taylors Legal will then identify advocates who will be invited to further advanced advocacy development courses, enabling them to attend more complex and interesting cases.
If this process seems suitable for you and you are interested in joining our Advocacy Panel, as self-employed County Court advocates, please email a CV and covering letter to our recruitment team using the email address: enquiries@ashleytaylors.co.uk during the open recruitment window.
