Job Title: County Court Advocate

Job Purpose
To attend the local County Court to undertake a variety of Civil Cases before the District Judge.

Personal Specification
Applicants must have excellent listening skills, patience and ability to work with a considerable amount of detailed information, have the drive to stay focused on a particular outcome of a case, yet have flexibility to meet a variety of counter arguments that are put their way, a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills and the ability to work to strict time limits.

The Applicants must be disciplined enough to comply with the SLA Regulations

Technical Skills/Qualifications/Training
Advocates would ideally have some experience in Court be from a Private Practice background be BVC, LPC, F.Ilex or similar, or M inst.PA qualified, but this is not essential

It will be necessary for selected Applicants to attend our in-house training and pass assessment, which takes place over a three day or a five day period according to their current experience. In addition, all Advocates must undertake continuation training and attend two Conferences a year in London.

Location: England and Wales

Reports: to the Court Manager

Hours of work: flexible, but generally during the Court opening times

Salary: rate per individual type of case.
