Ashley Taylors Legal Training
The Courses we currently offer lead to nationally recognised qualifications – LPQ Certificate in Mortgage Repossession Practice and the LPQ Certificate in Debt Recovery (Enforcement) Practice. Both Courses are extremely practical in nature – designed for any Legal Practitioner wanting an in depth knowledge of the relevant practice and procedure from the people who do this work every day of the year.
In recognition of our high quality, both of these Courses have been accredited as mandatory Courses by the Institute of Paralegals. This means that any Paralegal successfully completing one of the Courses is eligible (subject to meeting the other criteria) for Fellowship of the Institute. Fellowship confers the right to use the professional designation ‘Qualified Paralegal’ and to use the letters F.Inst.PA after one’s name.
Both Courses are provided via distance learning and can be taken by anyone, anywhere and prior legal knowledge and experience is not required.
If successfully completed in their entirety, either Course can lead to an optional LPQ qualification. Alternatively, on the Debt Recovery (Enforcement) Course, individual sections can be taken as standalone topics if only parts of that Course are of interest. In both cases, the Modules of both Courses are available separately to enable you to take the entire Course in stages and at your own pace.
Over the next few months a further LPQ legal qualification in respect of Landlord and Tenant will be offered, and approved Courses will also be offered relating to Trespass and Infant Settlements with others on the drawing board.
The training packs follow the traditional format of having some home exercises with periodic assessments to be passed. Candidates also have access to a Forum for discussion and FAQs plus a personal online tutor for help. Assessments are marked and returned with a debrief to help further improve study and knowledge.
We understand all too well the time pressures that many legal practitioners operate under. Accordingly, our Courses have been scheduled at a pace that even the busiest practitioner can handle. However, since the Courses are self study, those candidates with more time have the opportunity to complete them quicker. Typically the Courses are completed within thirty five to forty eight weeks, but some people able to devote full time to study have completed them in as little as four weeks. Courses must be completed within fifty two weeks for you to be eligible to undertake the final assignment necessary to receive the relevant LPQ qualification.
